Supercomputer dismisses Arsenal’s chances of winning Premier League at just 14 per cent despite flying start to season

ARSENAL’S chances of winning the Premier League have been mostly thrown out by a supercomputer despite the club’s flying start to the season

The Gunners chances of winning the title stand at just 14 per cent according to FiveThirtyEight’s supercomputer.

But this percentage is dwarfed by Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola’s side have a 71 per cent chance of making it three titles in a row.

However, not all is lost for Arsenal, as they come in with a massive 75 per cent chance to secure a spot in the top four – which will surely come as a relief after narrowly missing out on it last season.

They currently have a seven point buffer to fifth place after a 1-1 draw with Southampton in their last league fixture.

Liverpool are ranked with the third best chance of winning the league despite their slow start to the campaign.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are 12 points off the pace of league leaders Arsenal but retain a five per cent chance of winning the title.

Chelsea are next, with a four per cent chance for Graham Potter’s side to win the league in his first season.

Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United rank fifth in terms of likelihood to be champions, with an eight point gap between them and Arsenal despite being the only side in England to beat them thus far.
