TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR leapt to the top of Group D with a marginal 3-2 win over Eintracht Frankfurt – and it wasn’t smooth sailing.
Spurs found themselves trailing early doors courtesy of Daichi Kamada who took advantage of Eric Dier’s defensive blunder.
But Son Heung-min’s quick fire double, which included a sensational volley, completed the turnaround for the hosts.
And Harry Kane grabbed Tottenham’s third from the penalty spot after Tuta was sent off for two reckless challenges.
However, Faride Alidou’s late strike made it a nervy ending for the North London outfit, not to mention Kane missing a penalty in the dying stages.

That’s all from us…
That is all for SunSport’s coverage of Tottenham 3-2 Frankfurt.
It was a great game, which had it all, including a Heung Min Son brace which lit up a game, including a spectacular first half volley.
That win sees Spurs go to the top of their group, and sees Frankfurt go to the bottom in a group that is still wide open!
In the other game in this group, Marseille got the better of nine-man Sporting with a 2-0 win…
Thank you as always for reading, we hope you enjoyed, and have a great night!
Man of the match.
It seems like there can only be one man who takes the SunSport man of the match award tonight, and that man is Heung Min Son.
Two goals, and impossible for the Frankfurt defence to deal with, we think he is well deserving of the award.
Would you agree?
What a strike!
Heung Min Son was having one of those games tonight.
The Korean winger has long been one of the most magnificent players to watch in the Premier League, and tonight proved why he is so globally adored.
His first goal was a brilliant right footed finish into the bottom corner, after a good through pass from Harry Kane, but really, it was all about his second.
Hojbjerg got down the right hand side, and delivered a perfect cross into Son, who absolutely rifled a volley past Kevin Trapp in net.
The prodigal Son returned once more tonight.
Polar opposites.
Before the game tonight, the two team were only separated on goal difference.
Now, Frankfurt are bottom of the group, and Spurs are at the top.
This is how the group looks after matchday four…
Spurs see it out… Just…
Well, they never make it easy, do Tottenham Hotspur.
They went 1-0 down early on, due to an Eric Dier mistake, that allowed Daichi Kamada to roll the ball past Hugo Lloris.
With credit to them, they were then 3-1 up at home within the first half, after a brilliant Son brace, and a Harry Kane penalty.
However, 3-1 up against 10-man Frankfurt and seemingly cruising to victory in the 86th minute, they somehow almost found the score level at full-time.
On the 87th minute, Alidou headed in from a corner for the visitors, and all of a sudden you had a feeling the game could turn.
Spurs looked to have it sealed when Bryan Gil won a penalty in the 90th minute, only for Harry Kane to shoot over the target from the spot, getting those out of the way before the World Cup.
Frankfurt then had one last chance in the 95th minute, but they were denied an equaliser by Hugo Lloris in between the sticks.
