  • That’s all from Ibrox

Rangers progress to the Europa League round-of-16 in superb style after defeating Borussia Dortmund 6-4 on aggregate.

It has been a night that Rangers fans will remember for a long time.

Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund have failed to reach the round-of-16 in a European competition for the first time in a decade.

Thank you for reading, and goodnight!

  • Ruling Rangers

Rangers are the first side to score more than six goals against Borussia Dortmund across a two-legged European knockout tie since Monaco did so in 2016/17.

  • Giovanni van Bronckhorst reacts

When speaking on BT Sport, van Bronckhorst said:

“I think it’s very important for everyone. I told the players it’s a big moment for us as a club, we could make a lot of people proud tonight with the performance.

“We did. It was a difficult game again, we were 1-0 up and it was a really good start but after we conceded two goals so in half time I had to change the system.

“Also, the system we’ve trained, we’ve talked about in meetings and I think that system worked really well for us in the second half.

“We wanted to have a good start which we did. I think we were very unfortunate with the two goals. I think in some moments we could have cleared the ball with a deflection, so that was two goals in the second half that we get against.

“But, in the second half with only one goal difference I knew we had to change something to get much more solid defensively but still keep the moments to be dangerous in the transition.”

“I think we had more dangerous moments than Dortmund in the second half.”

  • Ryan Kent reacts

When speaking on BT Sport, Kent said:

“It was an incredible game. A big shout out to the fans, they were the 12th player for us today. They really kept us going right to the end.

“We had a lot of difficult moments throughout the game where we were on the back foot. You know, the boys dug deep, we showed a lot of character throughout the game and we came away with the result that we needed.

“There’s no denying that they are a very very talented team. A lot of class individuals, a lot of technicians and they pose threats all over the pitch so it’s important we stick together on the pitch.

“We can’t let any spaces available for them to exploit and when we do have the ball it’s up to us to really make the moments count.

“They had to chase the game. They needed the goals today so we knew that they would come at us and that left spaces open for us to go and exploit. We did that today.

“We had a lot of chances, we took two of them. Maybe we should have had a third but I don’t know.

“I don’t know what I’ve got to do to score right now! I just keep sticking at it and the goals will come.”

  • Full Time – Rangers 2-2 Borussia Dortmund (6-4)

Borussia Dortmund had positive spells across both legs but they were no match for the Light Blues.

They lacked efficiency in front of goal at times. The game arguably could have gone the opposite way if Erling Haaland had been fit enough to appear.

But, in the end they were outplayed by a very strong and determined Rangers side.

Rangers deservedly progress to the Europa League round-of-16 after a superb performance across both legs against Borussia Dortmund.

They continued to pile the pressure on the German giants throughout, both at Signal Iduna Park last week and this evening in Glasgow.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst took a risk when he changed the formation to five at the back, but it certainly paid off.

James Tavernier, Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos were all stand-out players across both games.
