SOUTHAMPTON manager Ralph Hassenhuttl has responded to reports linking him to the Manchester United job.
With Ralf Rangnick set to move into a consultancy position in the summer Hasenhuttl is the latest name to emerge as a contender for the role.
Hasenhuttl is reportedly a contender to take over from interim boss Rangnick Credit: PA The pair previously worked together at German side RB Leipzig and with Rangnick set to have a say on who lands the job, reports have emerged that Hasenhuttl has been added to Man Utd’s shortlist.
And The Mirror claim director of football John Murtough and technical director Darren Fletcher are also fans of the 54-year-old Saints boss.
Hasenhuttl though has been quick to play down the links when quizzed on the rumours linking him to Manchester United.
Although he couldn’t help but voice his pleasure on being touted for the Old Trafford hot seat.
Hasenhuttl said: “When I discuss every list I have been on in the last two months, I would not have time any more for working or doing my job.
“The only thing I can say is it shows that we don’t do everything wrong here.”

Notable results this season include holding both Manchester United and Manchester City to 1-1 draws.
Although PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino and Ajax head coach Erik ten Haag remain the front runners to be next United manager.
It’s claimed both contenders have been contacted by Red Devils’ chiefs.
Pochettino is thought to be the players’ top choice, while Ten Hag has impressed with his bold attacking tactics at Ajax.
