Telles is spending the entire season at Sevilla, who will pay his wages in full, but there is NO option to buy.

The former Porto star will wear the No3 shirt at his new club.

And Telles sent a heartwarming farewell message to United fans on social media.

He said: “To everyone at United: colleagues, staff, fans. I will be supporting and cheering you on all season.

“Thanks for the moments so far.”

Telles was surplus to requirements at United with new boss Erik ten Hag already starting to shape the squad in his own image.

Left-back Tyrell Malacia joined from Feyenoord.

Ten Hag also brought Lisandro Martinez with him from Ajax to play at Old Trafford.

Both players would provide competition and cover for long-term servant Luke Shaw.

Telles joined United from Porto for £15.8million in 2020.

He made just 26 appearances last season, netting once in the Champions League and providing four assists in the Premier League.

Sevilla have also earmarked his United team-mate Eric Bailly as a potential replacement for Jules Kounde, who left for Barcelona last week.
