VIRGIL VAN DIJK was spotted HUGGING Netherlands team-mate Denzel Dumfries after Liverpool’s second goal against Inter Milan.
The Reds ran out 2-0 winners at the San Siro on Wednesday night thanks to second-half goals from Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah.
And seconds after Salah gave the Merseysiders a solid lead for the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie, Van Dijk bizarrely embraced Dumfries.
Footy fans were quick to spot the embrace, with one asking: “Did anyone else notice Van Dijk hug Dumfries in celebration when Salah scored the second?
Another asked: “Why did Van Dijk go hug Dumfries after Salah scored?
And another said: “Did I see van Dijk hug one of the inter Milan players when Salah scored? LOL.”
One remarked: “I think he was trying to cheer him up.”
Victory in Milan has put Jurgen Klopp’s troops in pole position to qualify for the quarter-finals of Europe’s elite club competition.

But the German insists the Reds’ Italian job is only half done, saying: “It’s still dangerous.
“It’s half-time, nothing else. That’s how it is in the knockout stages.
“We don’t feel like we’re halfway through, it will be tricky and we have to be ready.
“It’s 2-0 at half-time. I wouldn’t tell the boys it was job done if it was 2-0 at half-time in any other game here, so I won’t think any different here.”
Liverpool will welcome Simone Inzaghi’s troops to Anfield a fortnight next Tuesday.
Klopp’s troops will be back in action on Saturday afternoon, welcoming relegation battlers Norwich City to Merseyside.
