A STRONG Liverpool side stuttered to a 3-1 friendly defeat against Lyon in the Dubai Super Cup.
Former Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette scored twice for the French side – who were comfortably beaten 3-0 by the Gunners on Thursday.
Fabio Carvalho had got Liverpool off to the perfect start, scoring in the first minute after Mo Salah had an effort blocked.
Usually so reliable from 12 yards, Salah missed a penalty to put the Reds 2-0 up in the 14th minute.
There was a blow when Harvey Elliott went off injured, before Lacazette levelled things up just before the break.
Bradley Barcola struck after half-time to put Lyon ahead, before Lacazette settled the game late on.
