Haaland nets ANOTHER hat-trick to overtake Kane for Prem goals in August… after just FIVE games vs 26 for Spurs ace

ERLING HAALAND has overtaken Harry Kane for goals scored in August… after just FIVE games.

The Man City striker netted a first-half hat-trick in the 6-0 win over Nottingham Forest to take his tally for the season to nine already.

In comparison, Kane has scored just eight goals overall in August from a staggering 26 games.

The England captain infamously struggles to score goals in the first month of the season.

However, Kane’s struggles have been largely non-existent this month, with four goals to his name – and he was even a direct contributor to West Ham scoring an own goal in their 1-1 draw with Spurs on Wednesday evening.

But despite that – the Premier League’s most potent striker of recent years is being eclipsed by the new arrival at the Etihad.

Haaland’s second hat-trick of the season once again comprised of a number of unspectacular goals, but as legends such as Alan Shearer and Gary Lineker will tell you, it doesn’t matter how they go in.

As if his August goal tally wasn’t impressive enough, Haaland has added some more records to his name.

Haaland is now the quickest player ever to score two hat-tricks, doing so after just five games with the next closest, Demba Ba, doing so in 21 games.

He is also now the holder of the most goals after the first five games in a Prem season after eclipsing Sergio Aguero and Niall Quinn’s record of eight goals in five.

Haaland told BT Sport after the match: “Amazing, nothing more to say.

“It was about keeping doing what we did in second half against Palace, play, play, play – it was nice.

“It’s been good so far, I’m not complaining.

“There’s going to be a lot of games, so it’s important to keep going and enjoy as much as we can.”

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola said: “Really good tonight. The talent we have in our strikers, it was a really good game.

“I know Erling is happy scoring goals, but what he wants is to win. If he breaks records but we don’t win, he won’t be happy.

“He’s strong in all departments, but especially around the box, his finishing, and his work ethic is so great.”

Guardiola, who also saw fellow summer signing Julian Alvarez net two goals, added: “Julian and Erling have a special sense for the goal, it is difficult to buy or teach. The two goals from Julian are amazing, and Erling’s mentality is contagious for our team.”

The game between Forest and City finished 6-0 with Joao Cancelo scoring the other goal.

The Premier League champions are unbeaten in their beginning to the season.
