Ex-Tottenham star Noni Madueke to rekindle feud with Arsenal as Van Nistelrooy says he’s fit for PSV Europa League tie

PSV manager Ruud Van Nistelrooy has declared his stars are ready to take on Arsenal, with one star set to rekindle a personal feud.

And fresh off the back of a 6-1 win at the weekend, Van Nistelrooy has declared his stars can outgun their opponents when the two sides finally meet on Thursday.

But this is partly down to the return of former Tottenham star Noni Madueke.

The English winger has not featured for the Eredivisie title challengers yet this season after suffering an ankle injury in July.

However, he has recovered quicker than expected and could be involved against Arsenal on Thursday.

Manchester United legend Van Nistelrooy said: “The game against FC Utrecht came just too early. I expect him to be there on Thursday.”

PSV are also set to be bolstered further by the returning veteran striker Luuk de Jong and full-back Mauro Júnior.

The ex-United ace added: “It could be that they are there too.

“They will first make minutes and from then on they can really raise the competition in the team.

“With competition, you push each other to the limit. The players know that there are matches every three days.

“You make each other better and you can already see that the level is rising.”

Madueke contributed to nine goals and six assists across 35 games in all competitions last season.

He joined the Dutch outfit directly from Tottenham’s Youth set up in 2018.
