ERIK TEN HAG is set to swing his axe and remove Manchester United stalwart Mike Phelan from the Old Trafford backroom team.
Reports suggest the 59-year-old will not be in the dugout next season as Ten Hag brings in his own trusted employees.

Rejoining Manchester United in 2019 under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after serving as a player and assistant to Sir Alex Ferguson, Phelan is held in high regard at the club.
The Mail go on to claim he could remain at the club depending on the outcome of talks with chiefs, but he will not be in the dugout.
