Ronaldo, 37, has plans to QUIT Man United, but the Old Trafford chiefs are standing firm that the Portuguese star is going nowhere and is not for sale.

    Manchester United fans should be underwhelmed by the signing of Christian Eriksen, according to Liverpool hero Danny Murphy.

    Murphy told talkSPORT: “World class? Eriksen? No. No, no, no, no. He is a welcome addition to any squad because he is experienced and has quality.

    “But when you’re looking at the big games when United are competing against Liverpool, [Manchester] City and Chelsea, is he going to play in that first XI? No, is the answer.

    Napoli have entered the race to sign the him and could be willing to match United’s asking price.

    Bayern Munich could also view the Portugal international as a cheap replacement for Robert Lewandowski if the Pole is sold to Barcelona.

    Finally, United have made a breakthrough in the transfer market with Feyenoord star Tyrell Malacia set to become their first signing of the summer today.

    Malacia jetted into Manchester yesterday and went through the first stages of his medical.

    And should it all go to plan the left-back will put the finishing touches to his move – which will cost the Red Devils an initial £13m.
