The Blues’ new home and away kits were unveiled by Footy Headlines, renowned for leaking kits before they’re released by clubs.

And the West London club’s decision to add an eccentric collar complete with squiggly lines to their plain blue shirt has sent fans through the roof.

One fumed: “Looks like a cheap teamwear jersey with a kids crayon scribblings on the collar. Poor.”

Another echoed the sentiment and added: “That collar looks shocking cheap.”

A third fan was less critical and said: “Well.. the pre-match shirt looks quite decent. Still, really dislike that button-up collar on the home kit.”

Chelsea’s away kit for the 2022-23 season is a mixture of two dynamic blues covered in the same messy design, but it escaped the harsh criticism of the club’s fans.

The away top also features a black and white crest with a white outline and has the club’s sponsors Trivago written across the middle.

In contrast, the home kit has a blue and white crest with a gold outline, and Three on the front.

And Chelsea fans now have to brace themselves for new owners along with the new kit after Roman Abramovich revealed he’s selling the club due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

The Stamford Bridge faithful may have to welcome UFC star Conor McGregor as their new owner after the Irishman expressed interest in buying the club.
