Still, Alvarez is demanding Ajax enter negotiations with Chelsea in his quest to force through a move.
Chelsea decided to make an approach for the ex-Club America ace following their 2-1 defeat away at Southampton on Tuesday night.
Tuchel was heavily critical of his side after their performance at St Mary’s where he insisted they are not tough enough.
He remarked: “It’s too easy to push us off the track, too easy to win challenges, too easy to bully us.

Before adding: “We were lucky not to concede a third goal. We were not tough enough to react and push it over the line.
