BRENTFORD have announced the departures of five first team players, including Manchester United and Tottenham target Christian Eriksen.
The Bees are desperate to retain their great Dane for next season, but face stiff competition to do so.
Christian Eriksen made 11 appearances for the Bees Credit: Rex Thomas Frank’s side have confirmed that Eriksen is out of contract, but that they are attempting to keep hold of him.
Eriksen made 11 appearances for the Bees after his January arrival, scoring once and laying on four assists as he helped his side climb the table.
On the former Spurs and Inter Milan star’s future, Brentford director of football Phil Giles said: “It is no secret that we would love Christian to remain at Brentford for more seasons, and we will continue to discuss that possibility with him and his representatives.”
Brentford also confirmed that defenders Julian Jeanvier and Mathias Zanka Jorgensen will be released upon the expiry of their contracts.
