DEREK CHISORA admits he’s ‘open’ to the idea of fighting Deontay Wilder later this year.
The former world title challenger has been touted as a potential opponent for the American following his unanimous decision defeat to Joseph Parker last month.
And the prospect of mixing it with the former dominant WBC heavyweight titleholder is something that excites Del Boy.
During an appearance on talkSPORT, Chisora said: “I’m open to anything – I love fighting.”
Chisora’s willingness to face knockout artist Wilder stems from his eagerness to share the ring with all the big names of his generation.
He continued: “What most people don’t understand is some people want to have the perception of being boxers on Instagram.
“I’m not that guy. I want to be that guy that when I sit down and everybody looks at my resume, I want to say, ‘You know what, I fought everybody.’
“I don’t want to let people decide for me, I decide for myself and be happy with the decision I make.

“So if I have to fight Deontay Wilder, if I have to fight whoever, if I have to fight an American, I don’t care. I’ll fight.”
Matchroom Boxing chief Eddie Hearn loves the idea of a dust-up between the two heavy hitters, recently telling DAZN: “Deontay Wilder, we want to see you back in the ring.
“I’ve got the perfect guy for you – Derek Chisora.
“Come on, he’s getting on a little bit, he’s coming off three defeats on the spin now.
“Easy comeback fight for Deontay Wilder. Derek’s ready.”
But fan favourite Chisora would have to find himself a new head coach if he accepted a clash with the Bronze Bomber as trainer Dave Coldwell is flat out against the bout.
He told talkSPORT: “It’s not something I want to see. I think it’s just too hard a night for him.
“Derek’s Derek and he’ll do what he wants to do. It doesn’t matter what anybody says, it’s the same as how he’s been all the way through his career.
“When it comes down to, ‘Does he fight again or doesn’t he fight again?’
“Yes, he will listen to people’s advice when it comes to opponents and things like that, but Derek wants to fight certain people.
“If he wants the fights, then they’ll happen. If I had my way, he wouldn’t be fighting Deontay Wilder, that’s for sure.”
