The technique seemed to work as she threw 41.63m, the third-best distance Credit: Twitter / @BBCSport Adrianna Sulek represented Poland in the heptathlon during the World Athletics Championships in Oregon.
And she stole the show with her unique style that went viral on social media.
Comedian Tim Vine picked up on Sulek’s strange preparation method, sharing a video showing her swaying from her left foot to her right repeatedly while wafting her non-dominant left hand up and down.
The 23-year-old athlete then sped up the hilarious prance and wrist motion as she bounced into her run-up before launching the spear.

Sulek’s technique may be unconventional but it helped her launch the javelin 41.63m – the third-best effort in the field.
However, she fell agonisingly short of a medal in the heptathlon overall, finishing fourth.
Defending champ Katarina Johnson-Thompson, back from injury, ended the campaign eighth.
