JORDAN PICKFORD ensured England marched on at Euro 2020 with their clean sheet record intact after a wonder save against Kai Havertz.
After a nailbiting game of few chances, England progressed to the quarter-finals with a famous 2-0 win over Germany setting up a clash with Ukraine.
That came after Chelsea man Havertz almost broke the deadlock in the second half.
Robin Gosen’s cross from the left looked for the giant figure of Thomas Muller in the middle.
The ball deflected into the path of Havertz who struck a brilliant effort first-time with his left foot.
In the blink of an eye, England’s No1 shows brilliant reactions to tip the ball over the crossbar and deny Germany from taking the lead.
Havertz struck the ball flush, with his effort arrowing down the centre of the goal.
Pickford has been one of England’s best players at the tournament and has now not conceded in any of the four games the Three Lions have played.
He becomes the only keeper yet to concede in the opening four matches after Austria scored against Italy’s Gianluigi Donnarumma.
Fans watching from home heaped praise on Pickford’s stop.
One wrote on social media: “What a save from Pickford after a brilliant strike from Havertz!”
Another added: “What a shot and what a save from Pickford.”
