ARSENAL may have spent the most in the summer transfer market but their splurge has left them with only the seventh most-valuable squad.
Mikel Arteta’s side pumped £121million into the market this window, signing the likes of Ben White, Aaron Ramsdale and Martin Odegaard.
But figures from trusted aggregator Transfermarkt show the Gunners’ squad value is still only just above that of Everton, who spent barely a penny.
Leading the way having broken the British transfer record are Manchester City, with a set of stars pushing towards the £1billion mark.
Jack Grealish’s arrival was offset by the sales of Lukas Nmecha, Jack Harrison and Ivan Ilic, while Sergio Aguero and Eric Garcia left for free.
Remarkably, the defending champions are worth almost £100m more than second-placed Manchester United despite having SIX fewer players.
The Red Devils’ 28-strong squad tallies up to £843.5m, which includes the addition of Cristiano Ronaldo and his £40m ‘value’ – double what the club paid for the goalscoring sensation.
Chelsea and Liverpool can barely be split at just above £790m in third and fourth respectively, before a £150m-plus drop to Tottenham in fifth.

Unsurprisingly, Harry Kane is rated as the North London club’s best asset at £108m.
Leicester nudge Arsenal out of the way to stand sixth in the value league by just £1.5m.
The Gunners – who will take solace in the fact that their squad is the third-youngest in the league – weigh in at £493m.
Bukayo Saka is the Gunners’ top-rated player at £58.5m although the listed valuations of White (£25m) and Ramsdale (£10m) suggest they may have overpaid for their new arrivals.
It also marks a sharp decline in Arsenal’s perceived value, which the same metric rated at over £600m in April.
Everton, Aston Villa and Wolves complete the top ten.
Along with Manchester City, Villa hold the smallest squad of just 22 players.
Their tally of ten overseas players is also the joint-lowest, with Burnley.
West Ham are the final club with a squad worth north of £300m, although it is the second-oldest.
At the bottom of the standings are Watford with a side valued at £119m, having only plundered a net £4m into the market upon promotion.
Burnley split the newly-promoted sides to sit 19th and Crystal Palace’s £66m spend has left them 16th, on £215m and within sight of Southampton and Newcastle.
