FORMER Man City hero Sergio Aguero’s girlfriend has put paid to split rumours with a touching photo of her holding the footballer’s hand.
Sofia Calzetti captioned the pic, showing her squeezing the 33-year-old’s hand after it was confirmed he is out for at least three months after being rushed to hospital on Saturday with chest pains, ‘Today more than ever I love you’ followed by a heart emoji.
She posted the snap on Instagram after Aguero’s new team Barcelona confirmed his forced lay-off while he is monitored by doctors.
He underwent tests after being substituted early in his side’s match against Alaves on Saturday night.
The Argentine needed medical treatment on the pitch after clutching his chest and complaining of breathing problems and dizziness and was reportedly diagnosed with an “irregular heartbeat” after being admitted to hospital for checks.
His stunning girlfriend’s romantic post came after Argentine press reports that they had ended their relationship.
The unconfirmed reports coincided with misplaced rumours Sofia had been upset by a like the footballer had sent to stunning Argentine singer-actress Lali Esposito, who starred in a recent Spanish action crime drama distributed by Netflix called Sky Rojo.
Sofia’s post confirming all is well between her and Aguero coincided with another by his mum Adriana Aguero, who has been to hospital to visit him along with his brother and girlfriend.

Adrian wrote alongside a photo of her son in his Barcelona kit with a big grin on his face: “Things have never been easy for you my angel since you were a little boy.
“Each step you took had its complication or something that seemed it was going to make you give up on your dreams.
“Once again life has tested you again, and you’re going to overcome the test like you always have, because giving up was never your thing.
“And I will be here at your side, for whatever you need, like all your family.
“There’s always a rematch in life. You must never lose faith or hope. I love you my son. That smile always has to shine.”
FAMILY UNITED
Sergio’s sister Mayra del Castillo responded to her mum’s emotive message with the words: “Always together mum, just like you taught us. Thank you for being our mum.”
Barcelona confirmed in a statement on Monday, referring to Sergio by his nickname Kun as he is better known in Spain and Argentina: “The footballer Kun Aguero has been submitted to a diagnostic and therapeutic procedure by Doctor Josep Brugada.
“He will be out of action and during the next three months the effectiveness of the treatment will be evacuated to determine his recovery process.”
Aguero, in his first words since being taken to hospital, said overnight on his Instagram: “I am fine and in good spirits to face the recovery process. I want to thank everyone for so many messages of support and affection that make my heart stronger today.”
The Argentine striker signed for Barcelona at the end of May after calling time on a record-breaking ten years at Man City during which he became the club’s all-time leading scorer.
He joined the Catalan giants on a free transfer and was looking forward to teaming up with close friend Lionel Messi before the six-time Ballon d’Or winner made the shock announcement he was leaving his boyhood club and signing for Paris Saint-Germain.
