GARY NEVILLE has urged Manchester United against a sensational reunion with Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Portuguese superstar has been linked with an emotional return to Old Trafford this summer.
All signs are pointing towards Ronaldo’s exit at Juventus after he was dropped for their crucial final game of the season.
Ronaldo then posted a lengthy cryptic message on social media strongly hinting he was ready for a new challenge.
And Juventus’ financial crisis due to the coronavirus pandemic has raised doubts over whether they can afford to keep Ronaldo beyond the season.
Ronaldo earns a staggering £540,000-a-week and still has a year left on his contract.
Following reports United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is closely monitoring his availability, one fan took the opportunity to ask club legend Neville whether the Red Devils should push ahead with the transfer.
But the former right-back dismissed it, replying: “Love him but think it’s better to leave the memories where they are.”
Ronaldo enjoyed a trophy-laden six years with United winning seven major trophies including three league titles and a Champions League title.
Neville has instead told Solskjaer to target three other stars to give them the best chance of winning the title next season.

In a Twitter Q&A, he told one supporter: “Varane, Kane and Sancho = title.”
Another of Neville’s old pals Paul Scholes also chipped in with his take on who United – who face Villarreal in the Europa League final on Wednesday – should target this summer.
Speaking to Webby and O’Neill, he said: “I think we need someone who is a creative midfield player. Grealish or Sancho, one of them would be ideal.
“It would be great to have a left-footed centre back but I don’t think it’s needed, I don’t think we are desperate for that.
“I would like to see a centre-half come in next to Maguire. I think Lindelof is doing alright, I just think alright isn’t good enough to win a league.
“Marquinhos from PSG, I think he’s a brilliant centre-half next to Maguire but again you’re talking about a lot of money.”
