Man Utd and Arsenal transfer boost with ‘Bayern Munich wanting just £8.5m fee for midfielder Corentin Tolisso’

MANCHESTER UNITED and Arsenal’s pursuit of Bayern Munich midfielder Corentin Tolisso has been given a huge boost.

The Budesligia giants had initially wanted £17million for the star, according to Metro.

But after receiving no concrete offers for him, they’ve slashed that price significantly to just £8.5m, Bild have reported.

The France international only has one year left on his contract with Bayern and they’re eager to cash in on him before his deal ends.

The German champions were reportedly considering offering Tolisso a new contract but decided against it in order to bring in some fresh legs.

And they plan to use the funds raised from Tolisso’s departure to do just that, Metro claim.

It’s unlikely Bayern will lose any sleep from his exit as since arriving from Lyon in 2017 for £35m, the 27-year-old’s only made 57 appearances in the German top-tier.

Either United or Arsenal could be Tolisso’s salvation with both Premier League giants eager to bolster their squads this summer.

Both clubs want to bring in a centre-mid and Tolisso fits the bill.

United already tried to bring him to Old Trafford on loan last January but Bayern rejected their offer.

However, the English teams could face competition from European giants Juventus, Atletico Madrid and Napoli, who according to Foot Mercato have also expressed interest in Tolisso in the past.

Despite all the hysteria surrounding his future, Tolisso has refused to discuss his plans publicly.

When asked before Euro 2020 where he’ll be next season, he said: “I want to focus on the Euros. I’m not asking any questions about my future.

“I was so focused on my comeback in the past three months that I haven’t had any thoughts.”
