GOODBYE!
Sorry it wasn’t the net-bulging, eyebrow-raising goal-fest we were all hoping for, but the two sides did their best for us.
In the end it was Scott McTominay’s extra-time volley which secured United a place in the FA Cup quarter-finals.
But a bit of a hapless night for the Hammers, who will be kicking themselves for failing to nab a striker in the January transfer window.
Oh well, they’ve always got the summer.
Have a good evening and we’ll catch you back here tomorrow evening for our coverage of Everton vs Tottenham!
Night.
OLE SPEAKS
It wasn’t the prettiest of victories tonight but Ole knows of the importance of bouncing back from Saturday’s draw with Everton.
“I felt we dominated. I thought we were in complete control of the first half.
“In the second half it became more of a game. When it’s only one nil and we are wasteful, anything can happen to us – we knew that from the last game [Everton]. It’s just about finishing the game off but we’re through. We’re in the hat and that’s what we wanted.
“I think we got about 15 to 17 shots in the end but we need to be more clinical. We should’ve finished the game off earlier and finished in 90 minutes but sometimes it doesn’t happen.
“We needed to have a good result and a good feeling after today because we were low after Everton game. It’s hard to take but they were really focused and did the job.
“Of course you want to win every game. We want to challenge and we want to go to the final. That’s what we’re here at Man United for. Sometimes you’re lucky with draw in the cup – we haven’t been that lucky – but obviously we move another step closer to the final.”

THE NUMBERS BEHIND THE SUCCESS
The full-time stats from Manchester United’s 1-0 win over West Ham.
Two hours of football and two shots at goal for the in-form Hammers.
Without Antonio, were they daft to let Haller go too?
Paul Tierney not using his cards tonight either!
MAGUIRE REACTS
Harry Maguire was given Man of the Match tonight and he praised the side’s spirit to win tonight after a sucker-punch on Saturday night against Everton.
I thought the performance was good, I feel we could’ve been a bit more clinical.
We should have been ahead at the break and they had a spell after it but we defended better than we did against Everton at the weekend.
We dug in and I felt we got the win we deserved.
We were so disappointed on Saturday so it shows great spirit and mentality to get our heads back up for tonight.Harry Maguire
MAN UTD 1-0 WEST HAM
It wasn’t pretty. In fact it was far from it.
But it was a quality goal that separated the teams and it was a classy finish from Scott McTominay to settle the tie.
West Ham will be disappointed they didn’t create anything and in truth didn’t give it a go.
