LIONEL MESSI was proven right about Mason Mount as the Chelsea star emerged as the tenth most expensive player in the world.
Barcelona legend Messi tipped Mount as one for the future alongside Phil Foden and Jadon Sancho.
And according to to the CIES Football Observatory algorithm, Mount is worth a massive £105million at just 22-years-old.
It means he ranks in the ten most valuable player in Europe’s top five leagues.
Mount was voted Chelsea’s player of the season having scored nine goals with the same numbers of assists in 54 appearances.
He was a major part in the Blues fourth-placed Premier League finish and European winning campaign.
Messi – considered one of the greatest players of all times – would have been left unsurprised, having spotted the England midfielder’s talent
He said in March 2020: “Having watched him play he has the potential to be one of the best.”
Manchester City’s Foden, 21, as well as United pair Mason Greenwood, 19 and Marcus Rashford, 23, were valued higher than Mount.
With Foden expected to play a big role at Euro 2020, he was rated to be worth £163m – topping the list.
