OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER is expected to hand his fringe players the chance to stake their first-team claims in their FA Cup clash with Liverpool.
With the Red Devils sitting at the summit of the Premier League, the Norwegian boss has finally found a winning formula.
But he is expected to rest a couple of key stars for the fourth round tie with their fierce rivals.
That is likely to mean rare opportunities for Donny van de Beek and Juan Mata to impress.
Dutch £35million signing Van de Beek has barely had a sniff of league action but he has been an ever-present in the cups.
He played 90 minutes in the 1-0 win over Watford in the last round and is expected to start once again against Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Mata is likely to feature in the No10 role and also played against the Hornets.
The 32-year-old has played six times in the league and has found regular football hard to come by following the form of Bruno Fernandes.
United’s attack could also see rapid winger Daniel James play on the flank with Mason Greenwood leading the line.
Marcus Rashford started on the bench in the victory over Fulham and is expected to start.
Brandon Williams started at right-back against Watford but his injury means Aaron Wan-Bisska is likely to keep his place.
Victor Lindelof has lost his place to Eric Bailly in recent weeks and should be given his opportunity alongside Harry Maguire after recovering from a back injury.
Alex Telles is also expected to start over Luke Shaw with Dean Henderson replacing David de Gea between the sticks.
