How Chelsea could line up against Crystal Palace with Thiago Silva banned but Kante returning and Abraham available

CHELSEA boss Thomas Tuchel will need to reshuffle the pack against Crystal Palace following Thiago Silva’s suspension.

The Blues chief will be without the veteran Brazilian for the trip to Selhurst Park after he was red carded in the 5-2 defeat to West Brom.

The Baggies loss was the first under Tuchel whose side returned to winning ways in the Champions League first-leg win over Porto.

Other than that, Chelsea have a fully-fit squad to choose from but Olivier Giroud is expected to start ahead of Timo Werner.

N’Golo Kante was fit enough to come off the bench in midweek and could replace Jorginho in midfield.

Meanwhile, Ben Chilwell is set to be rotated out once again in favour of Marcos Alonso with Callum Hudson-Odoi an option on the flank.

Tammy Abraham is also available but Tuchel claimed the England striker faces a tough ask to break back into his side.

When asked about the 23-year-old missing Gareth Southgate’s Euro squad, he said: “No, I cannot do my decision on the personal goals for the players.

“Kepa also has goals to play for Spain. This is good they have these goals but this can never influence my decisions.

“I’m the coach for Chelsea, I have to do what’s good for us and what I believe is best for us.

“Tammy had a bit of a rough time because he started twice or three times and was twice substituted for tactical reasons at half-time.

“He could not have the impact he demands from him and that we wish from him that he can clearly give from him.

“Now we enter in the decisive part of the season where it’s not so easy to bring players who are injured into the shape or to let them play.”
