FORMER Arsenal star Jack Wilshere has revealed he is open to a return back to the club after Mikel Arteta invited the midfielder to train at London Colney.
The Gunners gaffer has offered his ex-team-mate the chance to train with his squad as the 29-year-old searches for a new team.
Wilshere is currently a free agent after being released by Bournemouth at the end of last season.
And the two-time FA Cup winner has thanked the Spaniard for his invite, where he insisted he will hold talks with Arsenal imminently.
He said: “I really enjoyed playing with him [Arteta], sharing a dressing room with him and to hear him come out to say that the door is always open is nice.”
Asked whether he wanted to take up Arteta’s offer, Wilshere added: “I think that it can only help me.
“Being around good players, training with world-class players and as well just being in a team environment is something that I’m interested in.
“I’m sure I’ll have a conversation with someone at the club over the next couple of days.”

It cannot be ruled out that Arsenal won’t snap up Wilshere on a short-term contract should he impress.
Here is how Arsenal could look with the ex-West Ham man in their starting XI.
England international Aaron Ramdale could be given a run as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper after he dislodged Bernd Leno against Norwich on Saturday.
Following his impressive debut against the Canaries, Japanese star Takehiro Tomiyasu is expected to retain his place at right-back.
Kieran Tierney will almost certainly be deployed on the opposite side, with Ben White partnering Gabriel in the heart of defence.
Should Wilshere be included in a line-up, he would most likely be paired with Thomas Partey in the middle of the pitch.
Ivorian ace Nicolas Pepe could then feature on the right wing, with Bukayo Saka slotting in down the left.
Martin Odegaard could then be preferred over Emile Smith Rowe in the No10 role, with skipper Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang tasked with leading the line.
