OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER’S future at Manchester United hinges on winning silverware.
That is the view of Red Devils hero and team-mate of Solskjaer Mikael Silvestre.
The Norweigan’s tenure in the United hot seat is hanging in the balance after a string of humiliating defeats.
Reports say he will be given one more game to save his job, but Silvestre thinks trophies will be needed if Ole is to avoid the sack.
Silvestre told MyBettingSites: “Ole Gunnar Solskjær must win a trophy this season.
“For the players, the manager and for the club as it is in the DNA of Manchester United.
“They were so close last season with the Europa League and I’m sure they’ll use that as extra motivation for this year to push them over the line.”
United were demolished by arch rivals Liverpool last Sunday in a 5-0 shocker at Old Trafford.

Reports of dressing room in-fighting and speculation that Solskjaer is not up to the job have been rife in the aftermath.
United have been described as a group of individuals rather than a team but Silvestre claimed there was still hope for his old club.
He added: “The team has all the ingredients to win trophies and be successful, but it’s about turning up on the day and finishing the job.
“If they can have a season where they don’t suffer many injuries and can keep the team fit, then they can give it a good go.”
