FANS have thrown their support behind the proposed British Super League.
SunSport exclusively revealed last night that plans were in place for Celtic and Rangers to join an 18-team British top-flight after the European Super League crumbled.
And more fans want to see the new proposed competition than don’t, according to our exclusive poll.
With over 7,500 readers answering the question ‘do you want a British Premier League’, 47 per cent of fans were in favour of the move.
Just 38 per cent of responders were against the top-flight revamp, with a further 14 per cent unsure.
That’s a completely different response to that seen for the proposed European Super League.
In a YouGov poll on the controversial tournament, a staggering 79 per cent said they were against the idea – with 68 per cent strongly opposing it – which saw 12 teams sign up, including the Premier League’s Big Six.
Just 14 per cent of responders threw their support behind the ESL – which was scrapped on Wednesday after nine clubs withdrew following an incredible fan backlash.
But clearly plans for a revamped top-flight in Britain is more fans’ cup of tea.
Top of the list of plans being actively discussed is an offer to Celtic and Rangers to come and play south of Hadrian’s Wall.

And unlike the Super League shambles which was condemned globally, it’s likely an enlarged Premier League including the Old Firm would be BACKED by Fifa, Uefa and the UK Government.
Celtic and Rangers would jump at the chance to take a slice of the Prem cake, while their inclusion would also see a spike in interest from fans across the world, sponsors and broadcasters.
Even the pair’s SPL rivals are likely to be willing to wave goodbye to the two dominant forces because it would give them a realistic chance of winning the title and qualifying for the revamped Champions League.
In addition to the Rangers and Celtic plan, one other idea is an end of season top four play-off, similar to that in rugby union and rugby league.
But they are also still pushing, firmly, for a reduction to the 18 team league that was envisaged at the outset of the Prem when it was formed three decades ago.
