EX-PREM stars Gary Medel and Eduardo Vargas are at the centre of a storm – after allegedly inviting vice girls into their national team hotel..
Chile midfielder Medel, 33, spent the 2013-14 season in the top flight with Cardiff City after an £11million club-record move from Sevilla.
Meanwhile his national teammate, 31-year-old winger Vargas, played in QPR’s Premier League side six years ago.
The pair are among seven players being investigated by the Chilean FA during the country’s Copa America quest.
Reports in South America claim the players invited half a dozen sex workers to a party at the team’s hotel in Cuiaba, Brazil last week.
Bologna star Medel and Inter Milan midfielder Arturo Vidal have been sanctioned for bringing a hairdresser to the hotel – breaching the team’s Covid bubble.
The other five players suspected of involvement in the sex party are Vidal, Charles Aranguiz, Guillermo Maripan, Jean Meneses and Pablo Galdames.
The Chilean FA announced: “We recognise the breach of the health bubble by our Copa America squad, with a hairdresser given unauthorised access.
“Even though he had a negative PCR test, he should not have been in contact with the players.
“Those involved will be punished financially.”
