  • THAT’S ALL FROM STAMFORD BRIDGE

I knew that the gulf in class between Chelsea and Norwich was huge from watching them perform prior and all the statistics before the match proved that too.

But wow! Thomas Tuchel’s men blew the Canaries back to Norwich with their tails in-between their legs.

The scoring started for early when Mason Mount’s strike from outside the box flew past Tim Krul on the 8th minute.

10 minutes later, Callum Hudson-Odoi who terrorised Ozan Kabak and Max Aarons, got onto the end of a perfectly weighted ball by Mateo Kovacic before slotting it past Tim Krul for Chelsea’s second.

The third and fourth came either side of half-time thanks to a delightful chip from right full-back Reece James and a power drive from left full-back Ben Chilwell.

Max Aarons tried to intervene on a Hudson-Odoi effort but the wicked deflection took the ball away from Tim Krul, hit the post and rolled in making it five.

Mount eventually tucked home a penalty on the 85th minute after having to retake his initial effort which was saved because Krul was in front of the line.

The English superstar then completed his hat-trick when Ruben Loftus-Cheek unselfishly squared the ball to Mount leaving the net empty for him to tap it in.

    AND BREATHE!

Thank you for tuning in today, we have seen enough goals for the weekend let alone one match.

    Goodbye for now!

BT Sport commentator Glenn Hoddle voted Mason Mount as the Man of the Match and I tend to agree but from what you have read today, who gets your vote?

It’s no secret as to who will be receiving the highest rating for their performance this afternoon.

But one player in particular was a little off the pace despite his side winning 7-0.

  • NEXT 5 FIXTURES

After scoring 11 goals in 2 matches, the Blues can use that momentum to go into the second and third part of their triple home game run.

Chelsea welcome Southampton in the Carabao Cup round of 16 before opening the gates for multi-billionaire owned Newcastle in the league.

They then go on the roads to take on Malmo in the Champions League and Leicester in the Premier League with another home match against Burnley in between.

  • TO DO LIST

Daniel Farke’s side can’t sit there the whole week feeling sorry for themselves because the games are going to come in thick and fast.

Norwich are scheduled to welcome Leeds United, Southampton and Wolves all to Carrow Road in their next five fixtures.

However the Canaries find themselves travelling to Newcastle who are now in the hands of multi-billionaires.

And they also take a trip to West London where they’ll be taking one of the sides who gained promotion to the Premier League with them – Brentford.

  • DEMORALISED DANIEL

The Norwich didn’t seem confident leading up to the game but speaking about how poorly his side were today was probably one of the toughest things Daniel Farke has had to do as a manager.

He wasn’t pleased with the Canaries performance at all and I don’t blame him.

It’s a tough day and I spoke before the game, toughest task at the moment in world football.

Like I said before we would have no chance but we wanted to at least be at the top of our game but we were not.

We were too slow against the ball and with the ball and our decision making and that is the reason we lost the game.

We were not sharp enough in terms of our defence and too many runs in behind even though this was the topic during the whole week.

  • TABLE UPDATE

So as things stand, that emphatic victory by Chelsea not only puts them four points clear at the top, but it boosts their goal difference to +20 which is the highest in the division.

Looking down at the foot of the charts, that loss cements Norwich’s 20th spot and with a goal difference of -21, their Premier League status is already in jeopardy.

  • MAGIC MASON MOUNT

How fitting was it that Mason Mount who started the scoring for Chelsea and ended it too?

The English international was also awarded with Man of the Match by Glenn Hoddle so it was a perfect day all round.

Below is how Mount opened the floodgates for his side this afternoon.

  • NO.19 MAKES IT NO.20

Mason Mount’s three goals meant that he became Chelsea’s 20th different player to score a Premier League hat-trick.

Only Arsenal with 21 have had more.

  • MOUNT MATCH ANALYSIS

Mason Mount goes home with the match ball today after bagging his first hat-trick in a blue jersey.

Did you know that Mount has never scored more than one in a game for Chelsea?

    He talks about it here.

I put pressure on myself to get on the scoresheet because it’s been quite a long time since I did.

And then three come around in the same game.

I don’t think I’ve ever scored more than one in a game for Chelsea so it’s a massive moment for me to get three and I will remember this for a long time.
