THOMAS TUCHEL has claimed his first win as Chelsea boss after a dominant win over toothless Burnley.
The Blues took the lead through Cesar Azpilicueta just before half time, then forgotten man Marcos Alonso bagged a brilliant second.
Elsewhere Callum Hudson-Odoi was brilliant at wing back and hit the post, creating the opening goal as well.

THAT’S ALL FOLKS
Thomas Tuchel may possibly have just had the easiest game of his Chelsea managerial career this afternoon.
The Blues were dominant from start to finish and that’s no exaggeration because Burnley’s ONLY shot of the game came in additional time right at the end.
After a mixed bag of missed opportunities and tamed efforts, it took an overlapping Azplicueta to fire a rocket of an effort past Nick Pope after the Spaniard was expertly picked out by Callum Hudson-Odoi.
I may have mentioned this once or twice, but Hudson-Odoi was unreal today.
The home side picked up from where they left off in the second half, not allowing the Clarets to have a moments rest.
More shots were fired at Burnley’s goalkeeper but pure luck was keeping Chelsea at bay.
Until a forgotten man named Marcos Alonso popped up with an absolute blinder of a goal – potentially goal of the season to put the Blues two up.
Tarkwoski did manage to conjure up a last minute header for Dyche’s men but nothing really to trouble Mendy.
That’s four points out of a possible six for the new boss Tuchel but his first real test will come on Thursday against Spurs.
Thank you for sticking with me family and please go check out Alonso’s goal (see in blog) because it was amazing.
Have a good Sunday!
UPDATED LEAGUE TABLE
Those 3 points move Chelsea up to 7th spot closing the gap on the top four to 4 points before Liverpool play West Ham later on this afternoon.
As for Burnley, they drop to 16th because of the two goals they shipped in today’s match.
UPCOMING FIXTURES
It doesn’t get any easier for the Blues and Thomas Tuchel because their next Premier League encounter is a London derby against the mighty Spurs.
I’m looking forward to that one.

SHARING IS CARING
Azpilicueta and Alonso become Chelsea’s 14th and 15th goal scorers this season.
MORE FROM THOMAS TUCHEL
“I was very pleased again with the performance, it’s very important to have a win because it gives us a boost and it gives us the most confidence possible.
“It was a very, very good performance. We controlled the match completely, we never lost intensity and we never lost the focus or awareness.
“It should be a signal to our guys up-front that we needed two defensive players to score. We lack in the moment, precision in the last pass, precision in the last touch and the finishing, we will work on this.
TUCHEL’S QUOTES ON WERNER
The Chelsea boss had a few words to say about Timo Werner currently being out of form.
No talks, no hugs, no warm words can make up for this feeling.
“Maybe we need as stupid goal, a deflection or whatever for him.
“As long as the guys work as long as the guys are reliable in their positions and in their work rate for the team, we will push them, there’s no doubt about it.”
FULL TIME STATS
The Blues continued their dominance for the remainder of the game.
An all round brilliant performance for Thomas Tuchel’s side.
ALONSOOOOOO!
No he’s not a striker, he just has a striker’s finish. Take a look at Marcos Alonso’s goal which put the result beyond doubt.
PEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!
AND THAT’S THAT!
TUCHEL PICKS UP HIS FIRST 3 POINTS IN CHARGE!
FT: CHELSEA 2-0 BURNLEY
CHELSEA 2-0 BURNLEY
90+4. OOOOF NEARLY!
James Tarkowski just over the bar, unlucky.
At least they managed to get one shot right at the end of the game.
CHELSEA 2-0 BURNLEY
90+3. Finally a good free-kick which caused trouble but Silva got it away for a corner.
Can Burnley leave Stamford Bridge with a goal?
CHELSEA 2-0 BURNLEY
90+2. Burnley have the chance to get a shot on target with a set-piece about 30 yards out.
CHELSEA 2-0 BURNLEY
90. With four minutes of additional time to go, Chelsea are still hungry for the third.
Pulisic put in a brilliant cross with the outside of the boot but neither Werner or Havertz busted a gut to get on the end of it.
ACROBATIC ALONSO!
Fantastic finish from the forgotten man.
Pulisic from the left hand side flicked the ball into Alonso who found himself in the box with his back to goal.
The left-back controlled it on his chest, brought it down onto his knee, swiveled and volleyed the ball past Nick Pope with power.
Great way to mark his return to the team and it was well deserved.
CHELSEA 2-0 BURNELY
GOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL
WOW WHAT A GOAL ALONSOOOO!
DIDN’T EXPECT THAT FINISH AT ALL!
CHELSEA 1-0 BURNLEY
78. Havertz is on for Mason Mount and he nearly slid in Werner with literally his first involvement.
What a start to the game that would of been for him.
CHELSEA 1-0 BURNLEY
77. Chelsea just popping the ball around comfortably with no pressure what so ever.
How they haven’t got the second amuses me.
But the longer this game goes on, the more you wonder if the Clarets steal a point.
DISAPPOINTED DYCHE
The Burnley boss looks on in worry as his team are yet to lay a glove on Chelsea this whole game.
CHELSEA 1-0 BURNLEY
72. That was Hudson-Odoi’s last action as he comes off for Reece James in what seems like a tactical substitution.
He has been my man of the match by far.
CHELSEA 1-0 BURNLEY
70. Hudson-Odoi has had Pieters in his back pocket this game.
I must sound like a broken record player at this point but he fizzed in another fantastic cross but Pulisic didn’t connect with it good enough resulting in the ball going just wide.
The winger could of had a half a dozen of assists today.
CHELSEA 1-0 BURNLEY
67. HOW DID THAT NOT GO IN?!
That same dangerous right hand side for Chelsea called into action again.
Mount with a delightful through ball to Hudson-Odoi who flashed in the ball across the box which hit the outstretched leg of Ben Mee.
And if it wasn’t for the fingertips of Pope, that would of been the second.
CHELSEA 1-0 BURNLEY
64. The Clarets still yet to warm up Mendy’s gloves.
This is the easiest game the Chelsea goalkeeper has had in a long while but all it takes is one chance to change the whole complex of the game.
CHELSEA 1-0 BURNLEY
62. To make matters worse, Chris Wood has picked up an injury and has to be replaced by Gudmundsson.
No record breaking header for him today unfortunately.
