PUT A SOC IN IT
Real Sociedad are negotiating with Borussia Dortmund to remove a £26m buy-back clause for Arsenal target Alexander Isak.
Sociedad bought Isak from Dortmund back in 2019, with the Bundesliga giants including a £26m buy-back clause.
According to Sport1, the two clubs are now in negotiations to remove the clause.
Isak, 21, has three years remaining on his deal in Spain, with Sociedad hoping to reward his form with a new contract.
The Basque side are expected to pay around £5m to remove Dortmund’s clause.
BRIGHT IDEA
Brighton defender Ben White is keen to join Arsenal this summer, according to reports.
The Gunners saw an opening bid worth around £40million rejected, but talks continue.
It is believed that a bid in the region of £50m will be enough to tempt Brighton to sell.
White is keen to join the Gunners, telling friends that he expects to make the move to the capital this summer.
Football Insider have also revealed that the 23-year-old has already began house hunting in the expectation that the move will go through.
DIFFERENT BREED
Kieran Tierney had a special message hidden on his shin pads during his paw-fect performance at Wembley on Friday night, writes SUNNI UPAL.
The Arsenal defender put in a terrier’s performance in Scotland’s 0-0 draw with England in the Euros.
And Tierney, 24, showed a picture of a dog on his shin pads after th draw.
It’s unclear who the mystery pet is or belongs to and Tierney has never been pictured or seen with it.
AOU ABOUT THAT?
Arsenal are ready to launch another attempt to sign Lyon’s Houssem Aouar, writes JORDAN DAVIES.
The Gunners were priced out of a move for the 22-year-old Frenchman last summer – with Lyon demanding up to £55m.
However, the Ligue 1 club’s failure to qualify for the Champions League means Aouar will cost as little as £20m – a figure well within the North London club’s price range.
And SunSport understands that Arsenal are readying a contract worth £100k-a-week to lure the midfielder to the Emirates at the second time of asking.
NEW SEASON, NEW HOPES
Arsenal will be hoping for a more productive Premier League season, and they start their campaign off away at Brentford.
MEDLEY TO LEAVE
Arsenal defender Zech Medley will join Belgian side K.V. Oostende on a permanent transfer, according to football.london.
The 20-year-old will end his five-year stay at the North London club and will head to Belgium in the coming days.
The report states that Arsenal will add a sell-on clause into the deal just incase he makes good progress.
Boss Mikel Arteta was keen on keeping Medley, but the player wants to play first team football.
OLISE LINKED
Reading superstar Michael Olise has attracted attention from a host of top clubs, including Arsenal, Chelsea and Leeds.
And the teenage sensation is being urged to make his transfer decision – to stay or to seek a move elsewhere.
The 19-year-old had a productive season in the Championship scoring seven goals as well as providing 12 assists.
ON THIS DAY
Arsenal signed goalkeeper Bernd Leno three years ago today. What a signing he has been!
WINS AND LOSSES
Arsenal have lost more money than they’ve made in transfer sales.
CORR BLIMEY
Arsenal are keen on signing Lazio forward Joaquin Correa, according to reports.
Sky Italy are saying that Arsenal have requested information on the Argentine.
In the report, it states that Lazio have interest in one of Arsenal’s players, Lucas Torreira.
And the Uruguayan midfielder could help sweeten the deal to tempt the Rome-based club.
SILVA LINING
According to respected journalist Duncan Castle, Arsenal are ready to move for Frankfurt striker Andre Silva.
Speaking on his podcast, Transfer Window Podcast this week, he said: “Frankfurt are asking for £34.35m for the player.
“There is an expectation that that won’t be achieved, and that they will be forced to sell him for less money.
“Leipzig certainly don’t want to pay that. Arsenal have expressed their interest and have done a lot of propriety work on this deal.
“They have told Andre Silva that they need to sell before they can bring him in. But they want to do that deal.
“And the player they have targeted sell is Alexandre Lacazette.”
SPECIAL SAKA
Emile Smith Rowe has praised Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka.
Speaking to Gaffer YouTube channel, he said: “Honestly, it’s the best feeling. Growing up together, I’ve known B since I was maybe 12 or 13?
“When I first joined he was slightly younger than me, so we didn’t train together that much, but because he was so good he used to play up, but honestly, I can’t explain the feeling of when we step onto the pitch together.”
TOP TIER
Kieran Tierney is close to signing a new deal at Arsenal, according to Sky Sports.
The defender joined the club back in August 2019, and has impressed.
Tierney is also a key player for Scotland, and he contributed to the team’s big result at Wembley last night against England.
BIG BUYS
Pepe will need to have a big 2021-22 Premier League season!
GOOD MORNING ARSENAL FANS
SunSport exclusively revealed yesterday that Arsenal are ready to launch another bid for Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar, who is available for £20m.
Reports claim owner Stan Kroenke will invest £250m in the squad this summer to help propel Mikel Arteta’s side back into Europe’s elite.
Some of that cash will be spent on Kieran Tierney as he’s set to sign a new five-year deal after the Euros, according to reports.
The Gunners boss has been handed a transfer boost with Brighton defender Ben White reportedly keen on joining the club.
Arsenal are believed to have had a £40m offer rejected for the England star but are expected to make another offer.
The Gunners have also reportedly had a bid of £13m turned down for Anderlecht midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga – and rumours suggest they now face competition from Atalanta for his signature.
And they are also believed to be in a transfer battle with Chelsea for Real Sociedad striker Alexander Isak, who has a £60m release clause.
Finally, Arsenal’s first Premier League game of the new campaign – away to Brentford – has been moved forward to Friday, August 13 at 8pm.
ISAK AT ARSENAL?
Arsenal have been linked with Swedish striker Alexander Isak.
The 21-year-old scored 17 LaLiga goals last term for Real Sociedad and has made an excellent start to his country’s Euro 2020 campaign.
Would you like to see him at the Emirates in the near future?
FRIDAY 13TH
Arsenal’s Premier League campaign begins at Brentford on Friday, August 13.
Will the date bring the Gunners bad luck? It can’t get much worse after last season, can it?
MARTIN ODEGAARD LATEST
Arsenal are set to fail in their pursuit of a permanent deal for Martin Odegaard.
The Athletic claims there is no chance the Norwegian will stay at the Emirates after his loan came to an end this month.
Carlo Ancelotti is back at Real Madrid after leaving Everton and plans on giving Odegaard a go in his team.
But it could mean there’s a reprieve for Joe Willock, who impressed while on loan at Newcastle.
BOULD MOVE
Kevin Betsy is emerging as a contender to fill the vacant Under-23s boss role at Arsenal.
The Gunners controversially axed club legend Steve Bould from the position in May.
Betsy, 43, is currently head coach of the England Under-18s and is highly-rated within the system at the FA.
As a player, Betsy turned out for Fulham, Barnsley and Wycombe.
Since retiring, he has moved into coaching, also managing the Three Lions at Under-16 and Under-17 level in recent years.
And Arsenal hope Betsy can inspire a change in fortune after a dreadful 2020-21 season.
TIERNEY STARTS
Kieran Tierney starts for Scotland tonight in their Euro 2020 match against England.
The Arsenal star missed his nation’s opening match of the tournament with an injury.
Reports suggest he will sign a new five-year deal at the Emirates after the Euros.
TIER WE GO
Kieran Tierney has reportedly agreed a new five-year Arsenal contract worth £110,000-a-week.
David Ornstein claims talks have been ongoing following Tierney’s fine season.
And the left-back will put pen to paper once Scotland’s adventure at the Euros is over.
Tierney has made 62 appearances for Arsenal during a two-year spell after joining from Celtic for £25million in 2019.
The defender is already a firm fan favourite thanks to some tenacious performances.
And aged just 24, Tierney has plenty more campaigns to come.
HAK’D OFF
Arsenal target Hakan Calhanoglu is set to be offered a REDUCED deal by AC Milan.
A lacklustre Euro 2020 performance with Turkey has left the out-of-contract midfielder’s options limited, as reported by Tuttosport.
The Rossoneri’s new offer is said to be weighted towards performance related bonuses rather than a high basic salary.
MIC DROP
Football fans were loving BBC’S half-time show of Sweden vs Slovakia as Micah Richards belted out Usher’s hit song Nice & Slow.
The Manchester City right-back was involved in a segment where Jack Grealish sang Robbies Williams’ No 1 song She’s The One.
And attention then turned to past initiation songs in the studio, where Wales’ Ashley Williams recalled singing Beautiful Girls by Sean Kingston.
Former Arsenal star Alex Scott revealed she never sang one, before Richards burst out with his rendition of Nice & Slow, with Williams joining in.
And fans were loving it as they preferred the half-time show to the actual match, with Sweden and Slovakia going into the break at 0-0.
Taking to social media, one supporter tweeted: “The half-time pundits have been the best part of this game.”
RAMSDALE LATEST
Sheffield United have reportedly ‘frustrated’ Arsenal with their valuation of Aaron Ramsdale.
The goalkeeper was the subject of a £20million offer from the Gunners following United’s relegation to the Championship.
But, according to Sheffield Star, the Blades want £35m for the England shot-stopper.
