THE blockbuster undisputed heavyweight fight between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury could be announced TONIGHT.
Promoter Eddie Hearn – who is currently in Texas for Saul ‘Canelo Alvarez vs Billy Joe Saunders – confirmed on Friday that the deal for the huge heavyweight showdown was ‘done’.
And he has now gone one step further by hinting that we could have an announcement about the first of a two-fight deal after the Canelo-Saunders clash this evening.
Speaking to Fight Hub TV, Hearn said: “A lot of people think we’re going to announce on Saturday… we might. It won’t be far off that if we do [delay].
“Fury is on board, AJ is on board, they’ve all signed the site agreement, but it’s a lot of money. Unfortunately I can’t just tell the lawyers to hurry up.
“But that fight is done, and you’ll get an announcement very soon.”
Fury will be at the fight supporting his close friend Saunders and it would be the ideal time to officially announce the long-awaited Joshua showdown.
But Hearn did also reveal Joshua will not be in Texas with the 70,000 crowd on Saturday.
He added: “AJ isn’t coming, but it’s difficult because this fight is exclusive on DAZN around the world, and the other [Joshua vs Fury] has three or four broadcasters who would quite like to be involved in the announcement.
“It’ll be Saturday-ish.”

Fight fans have been waiting for the prolonged announcement of the two British superstars’ fight.
Fury congratulated Hearn this week for transforming Watford heavyweight Joshua into a ‘global superstar’.
But the Gypsy King is adamant Joshua will have no chance of winning.
Fury told the No Passion, No Point podcast: “I will cut Anthony Joshua down like a hot knife through cheese.
“That’s how easy it’s going to be. That’s how easy it’s going to be.”
The first of the pair’s two fights is set to take place in Saudi Arabia, with July 24 and August 7 the slated dates.
