ANTHONY JOSHUA is set to star in a new Snapchat series which will follow his return to Watford to give back to his community
The former heavyweight world champion grew up in the Hertfordshire borough before rising to superstardom.
And in a new unscripted series called ‘A Fighting Chance with Anthony Joshua’, set to premiere in 2022, it will see AJ go back to his hometown.
He said: “I am really excited to team up with Snapchat and SBX Studios to create a Snap Original back in my hometown of Watford.
“Giving back is incredibly important to me, so I can’t wait to spend time with my local community and create something truly phenomenal.”
Joshua, 32, first started boxing at amateur club Finchley in London, before joining the Olympic team where he would win gold in 2012.
AJ has donated money in the past to provide the local gym with new boxing equipment.
And last year, he again injected cash of his own to help amateur boxing clubs that struggled amid the height of the coronavirus pandemic.

Joshua has become one of the sport’s top attractions since his 2013 debut but will return to where it all started in the brand new Snapchat series.
Vanessa Guthrie, Head of Original Content at Snap added: “As we continue to expand Snap Original content outside of the US we are thrilled to have the one and only Anthony Joshua share his personal and empowering story with our community in the UK.
“Snapchat is the home for talent who are passionate about telling authentic stories on mobile, and we look forward to continuing to work with UK talent and producers to create more shows for the UK and global audiences.”
Unbeaten American boxer Ryan Garcia, who has almost nine million Instagram followers, will also feature in the series.
Garcia, 23, will guide fans through an intimate exploration of mental health with the help of celebrity athlete friends and wellness experts.
He will share his own personal experiences and learn from how others overcame their struggles and uncovers new techniques along the way.
