West Ham and Leicester in seven-way battle for James Tarkowski transfer after Burnley rejected £30m summer bid

WEST HAM UNITED and Leicester reportedly remain both keen on signing Burnley’s James Tarkowski.

The 28-year-old centre-half was heavily linked with a move away from Turf Moor last summer.

The Clarets managed to fend off plenty of interest in the ace by refusing to drop their £50million asking price, rejecting at least one £30m offer.

Now Eurosport says David Moyes’ Hammers are planning a fresh move.

But they face a seven-way battle for Tarkowski.

And Leicester are believed to be one of those in the chase for the ace.

The twice-capped Three Lions ace is now entering the final 18 months of his contract.

And Burnley now face a decision on whether to cash in on the star – who earns around £50,000-a-week.

Despite the large price tag last summer, Tarkowski’s value drops with each passing month.

But even though he came close to joining West Ham, he has still remained a regular for Sean Dyche this term.

The ex-Brentford man has played a big role in helping the Clarets battle back from their poor start to the campaign.

But whether he stays there for the rest of the campaign remains to be seen.

Burnley are currently three points above the drop zone and travel to Leeds United next Sunday.
