Tottenham winger Jack Clarke completes QPR loan transfer in time to face old club Leeds

JACK CLARKE has completed his loan move to QPR from Tottenham Hotspur.

The 19-year-old winger joined Spurs from Leeds United for around £10million in the summer, and was immediately loaned back to Elland Road.

But the youngster struggled for game time at Leeds this season, featuring for just 19 minutes in the Championship under Marcelo Bielsa.

This lack of opportunity lead to Spurs recalling their summer signing – and QPR have won the race to borrow him until the end of the season.

Upon his arrival at Loftus Road, a beaming Clarke told QPR’s official website: “I am delighted and looking forward to getting started.

“Hopefully I can kick on and help the team. I like to create chances, take people on, I’m very direct with the ball and love running with it.”

And on playing under R’s boss Mark Warbuton, Clarke added: “I spoke to Mark a fair few times.

“He was one of the main factors in me coming here – in terms of how he wants to play football and how he sees me fitting in.”

“You couldn’t write it.”

Amazingly, Clarke’s debut could come at the weekend against his former side Leeds at Loftus Road.

He added: “You couldn’t write it, could you?

“I am just excited to get going and to kick-start things with my new team.”

Warburton, clearly delighted with his new acquisition, said: “I’m really pleased to bring Jack in – he is a talented, young, hungry player with lots of energy and there’s no doubts about his quality.

“I am looking forward to working with him.”

Clarke made 25 appearances for Leeds last season, but his influence faded after a health scare back in February.

He will wear the 47 shirt at Loftus Road.
