OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER insists Marcus Rashford has a “new injury” – despite the striker having treatment on his back for years.
The Manchester United boss revealed his star man could be out for eight weeks with a stress fracture in his back.

He had to be replaced during United’s 1-0 FA Cup replay win against Wolves last Wednesday, and missed the 2-0 loss to Liverpool at the weekend.
SunSport reported before the Norwich game on January 11 how Rashford was spotted carrying a fracture-healing device.
And in August the 22-year-old revealed that he has been using a Melmak ultrasound machine for years for “problems in his back”.
Despite the long-running issues, Rashford has become a mainstay of the United team – becoming even more relied upon since the departures of Alexis Sanchez, Romelu Lukaku and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

And it is something he is desperate for to continue, insisting the amount of games he plays doesn’t matter as long as he is “in the right frame of mind”.
The England international has played more club games since his debut on February 25, 2016, than any other Premier League player.
And now with this latest injury setback, the toil of turning out game-on-game for his boyhood heroes could be showing.
But Solskjaer insists the injury is something “new”.
Speaking ahead of United’s home game against Burnley on Wednesday, the boss said: “He’s not had that injury before, no.
“He complained a little bit after Burnley, [in December] he felt it the first time, and we managed him as well as we could.
“Then, he had some days off for treatment, taken off in games and suddenly this was a new injury.
“He didn’t have any injuries before then.”
The setback will only increase calls for United to make some serious moves in the transfer market this month.
And Solskjaer admitted that he is “always looking at improving the squad and seeing what’s out there”.
When he feels ready and medically cleared he’ll be back

Bruno Fernandes is the name constantly linked with making a switch to Old Trafford, and while he would provide goals and creativity from midfield, a Rashford replacement seems more essential.
Solskajer added: “He [Rashford] will be out for a while. He’ll get the time he needs to recover
“Marcus is good, he’s a positive guy and he knows this is not what he wanted but he’s always positive.
“He wants to get back as quickly and safely as possible and we’ll give him that time.
“When he feels ready and medically cleared he’ll be back.”
SunSport reported how United have been charged by the FA for failing to control their players in the defeat to Liverpool.
Harry Maguire, David De Gea and others surrounded referee Craig Pawson midway through the opening period after Virgil van Dijk challenged David De Gea.
Roberto Firmino subsequently scored, but his goal was chalked off following a VAR review of Van Dijk’s clash with the United goalkeeper.
Sp;skjaer said today when asked about the charge: “Maybe I shouldn’t talk too much about that. Let’s get that decision done but. The goal it’s overturned. I reacted myself because everybody could see it was a foul.”
