IT’S ALL OVER
For me this evening and for Manchester United – their Champions League campaign is over.
For an in-depth look at tonight’s loss, take a look at our match report, courtesy of Dave Kidd.
POGBA DRAMA
Ole refused to be drawn on the Paul Pogba saga and would not comment on whether the French international was happy.
When asked whether he wanted Pogba to say, Ole added: “Now is not the time to discuss who stays and who is a transfer target.”
WHAT’S NEXT
Ole says: “As a footballer, you can’t feel sorry for yourself, you can only do that for a few minutes tonight, then we have to focus on Saturday.
“The boys have a massive game on Saturday, that’s what the boys and I need to look forward to.”
OLE SPEAKS
Speaking after the game, on BT Sport, Ole said: “We showed spirit in a comeback again- it’s different to the Premier League- you can’t give a team a three goal lead and expect to come back.
“We were unlucky towards the end, I felt the character was there and I almost thought it was in at the last minute too.
“Of course yo can’t say we were good enough, we weren’t.
“In a difficult group we started well, then the turning point was the defeat to Istanbul- that’s where we lost the points that we should have had- today we were clime and we knew we had to defend crosses and balls in the box, but we just couldn’t clear then.”
CAPTAIN’S DUTY
Speaking of the different shapes Manchester United played this evening, Harry Maguire says: “I don’t want to look at excuses, there are 11 bodies out there that need to be aggressive and defend crosses, it’s the basics of football.
“We didn’t defend crosses and you can’t win football like that- obviously we changed the shape when we went 2-0 down, but I don’t want to look at that, it’s not an excuse.”
LATE, LATE DRAMA
Here’s how close United came to a draw in the dying seconds!
ALL OVER
Desperately disappointing night for Manchester United- the score line probably flattered them as there didn’t seem to be much oomph or energy in the entire first half.
That result means Paris St-Germain go through to the knockout stages, assuming that there aren’t any deductions from the game in Paris that’s been suspended.
