MANCHESTER UNITED have less league wins than Burnley since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s permanent appointment, damning stats can reveal.
Their shock 2-0 home defeat to the Clarets on Wednesday night meant the Norwegian has also lost more games than he has won during that time.
Solskjaer was appointed permanent boss in March and has overseen 32 league matches during his tenure.
And he can’t shy away from the shocking stats that further prove Solskjaer’s inability to get a tune out of his squad.
He has picked up just 11 wins, drawing nine and losing 12 with a grand point total of 42.
His side have scored 43 goals but also have a zero goal difference having conceded the exact same figure – despite the world-record arrival of £85million Harry Maguire in the summer.
In further comparisons that will have United fans peering through their fingers, eight teams have picked up more points in that time including Crystal Palace and Everton.
Southampton, Arsenal, Burnley and Newcastle are just two points behind with the Toon and Sean Dyche’s side playing a game less.
Compare that to Liverpool who have picked up a whopping 85 points from 29 matches and Man City on 75 from 32.
FANS STARTING TO TURN
Man United supporters were vocal and they turned on both the manager and under-fire chief exec Ed Woodward during Wednesday’s defeat.
In the last decade the lowest points the Red Devils have had after 24 games of a season is 40 – which has happened twice.
The first time was under David Moyes in the 2013/14 season and the second under Louis van Gaal in the 2015/16 campaign.
But this season they are on just 34 at the same stage.
Solskjaer’s record also falls short when compared with Jose Mourinho’s – who the Norwegian replaced.
The Special One was sacked in December 2018 before Solskjaer was drafted in.
And he notched 17 wins, 12 draws and just three defeats from his first 32 games in the Old Trafford hotseat.
That’s a win ratio of 50 per cent compared with Solskjaer’s 34.
