Paul Pogba’s brother says Fede Valverde’s rise WON’T stop Man Utd star’s transfer to Real Madrid

PAUL POGBA’S brother says Federico Valverde’s rise won’t stop Man United star’s transfer to Real Madrid.

When appearing as a guest on El Chiringuito, a Spanish TV channel, Pogba’s brother Mathias told presenter Josep Pedrerol that the increase in interest in Valverde will not affect his brother’s move.

When questioned if the 21-year-old’s rise to stardom at Bernabéu could hurt Pogba’s chance of signing, he said: “No, he can help him, but he can’t compete with him. I don’t think so. Can the two play together? Yes.”

It has been reported that Real Madrid have called off the charge for the United midfielder after Valverde captured the hearts of the Spanish fans with his last ditch tackle on Alvaro Morata in the Supercopa final.

Dubbed as a Real Madrid hero, Valverde caught the wandering eye of manager Zinedine Zidane after being named man of the match after his X-rated tackle during the Spanish Super Cup against Atletico Madrid.

Fans even took to social media to hail his legendary performance, suggesting that he effectively won Madrid the cup.

As a result of his performances leading up to the game and on the night itself, Zidane has pulled back on the expensive £150million Pogba deal.

Costing only £5m back 2016, Valverde is the definition of value for money.

When asked, Valverde said he is not worried about the potential arrival of United’s Paul Pogba and instead insists he would welcome the new signing to the Bernabeu.

Real Madrid president, Florentino Pérez, who recently quipped “I don’t know who Pogba is”, appears to be reluctant to bring the French international over from the Premier League when Valverde is showing such promise.

Although Pogba is regarded as he box-to-box midfielder Zidane’s has been looking for, Valverde is proving to have an impressive midfield engine that can support forward thinking attack and offer midfield mettle against counter attacks.

With Pogba’s contract set to expire in 2021 and having only made appearances seven for United, it seems a little farfetched to be discussing a £150m deal.
