NEYMAR is reportedly set to stay at Paris Saint-Germain this summer despite interest from old side Barcelona.
L’Equipe claims the Brazilian will not be returning to Spain after the football season was halted by coronavirus – while a member of his team said the ‘summer will be calm’.
Neymar is unlikely to rejoin Barcelona this summer with football halted by coronavirus
Campaigns across Europe are hoping to restart some time between June and August.
And that means the summer transfer window could be a very quiet one in terms of mega-money moves.
Barcelona are apparently keen on bringing Neymar back to the Nou Camp three years after selling him to PSG for a world-record £198million fee.
But Thomas Tuchel wants to keep Neymar at the club as he goes in search of Champions League glory.
And the player himself appears cool about his future in the French capital.
A representative of Neymar said: “We have never spoken about [a return to Barcelona].
“For the moment, our only concern is with the coronavirus.
“We think the summer will be calm. Honestly, we are not talking about [a move] at this moment.
“Neither an extension with PSG, nor moving elsewhere.”
PSG are also said to be confident about Kylian Mbappe’s immediate future.
The striker has reportedly been targeted by Real Madrid this summer.
But due to the uncertainty over the length of the coronavirus threat, it is highly unlikely a move will take place any time soon.
