Newcastle have Ayoze Perez as first player in 2020 calendar.. despite him scoring AGAINST them for Leicester last week

NEWCASTLE have been left embarrassed after the official 2020 calendar featured three players who no longer play for the club – and a swearing supporter.

The desktop organiser baffled fans due to the fact that Ayoze Perez and Salomon Rondon were splashed across the front.

Perez is then the main man on the next page as he fronts the month of January and he did score at St James’ Park in January…

The problem is that both players left the club in the summer.

Perez signed for Leicester in a £30million deal and came back to haunt the Magpies by scoring the first in a 3-0 win for the Foxes to kick-start their 2020.

Meanwhile, Rondon’s loan from West Brom expired and he joined up with former Toon boss Rafael Benitez again at Dalian Yifang in China.

Kenedy is the main man for June, celebrating his goal at Old Trafford scored on October 6 in 2018.

His loan deal from Chelsea expired at the end of last season.

All of the photos show the players in the old kit and one even shows an opposition fan making an obscene gesture in the background.

The calendar is not available on the club’s online shop but can still be bought from Amazon for £7.

It has one five-star review with the customer writing: “Stocking filler for my son in law. Buy this every year.”

On Twitter, fans were unsurprisingly outraged by the major gaffe.

One said: “This is embarrassing.”

Another wrote: “Newcastle choosing to put Ayoze Perez on the January page of their 2020 calendar only for him to score against them on New Year’s Day is just wonderful.”

And fans on social media also spotted the club website – ran by owner Mike Ashley’s Sports Direct retail chain – selling training shorts for Manchester United.

The post read: “The shorts have the clubs [sic] iconic crest which boldly stands out on the leg so you can showcase your support for the Old Trafford team and the shorts are finished off with adidas branding.”

Newcastle’s kits have been made by Puma since 2010.

The club said they deeply regret the errors and, according to The Telegraph, senior figures have privately expressed their embarrassment at the calendar blunder.

There has been no formal apology at this stage.

An internal investigation will take place to determine how the desktop calendar could go quite so spectacularly wrong, especially with the regular wall calendar having no problems and using pictures from this season.

The calendar is produced by Danilo, who needed the images by the end of June, printing the copies in South Korea before shipping them to the UK.

A source told The Telegraph the club did not know Perez would be sold when photos of him were selected.

Let’s just hope that poor son-in-law wasn’t putting his calendar out at around 3.36pm on New Year’s Day when Perez scored at St James’ Park…!
