EDINSON CAVANI is not going to face a backdated FA punishment for pushing Yerry Mina during United’s league cup quarter-final defeat of Everton, according to reports.
The Uruguay star appeared to take hold of Mina by his throat and shove the Toffees defender to the floor during last week’s Carabao Cup win.

Despite the incident Cavani, 33, remained on the pitch and gave the Red Devils the lead in the games closing stages with his team going on to win 2-0.
Without VAR until the tournament’s semis, Cavani faced the possibility of a retrospective reprimand and a three-game suspension for violent conduct
However, in his post-match report, the Telegraph report referee Andy Madley claimed he had seen the incident, meaning no further action will be taken.
That will come as good news for United and Cavani, who is already facing a possible three-match ban for a misconduct charge and a serious breach of the FA’s race rules.
This follows a contentious social media post shared following United’s win against Southampton in November.
Cavani, who has made just one Prem start so far this term, came on as a sub to score twice against the Saints during United’s 3-2 win at Saint Mary’s.
But the former PSG star’s impressive performance was dwarfed by headlines concerning his resharing of an Instagram message from a friend which included the words “Gracias negrito” which translates to “Thanks, little black” in English.
The Uruguay international went on to delete the post hours later after which he offered an apology.
Cavani has been given until Monday 4 January to reply to the charge.
If the charge is proven punishment could involve a minimum three-game ban, a possible fine and the forward embarking on an educational course.
In a formal written response to authorities, Cavani explained the words were used in correspondence with a friend who uses the term as a nickname.

The United forward said he was unaware of the words had racial undertones and that it could be used as a term of endearment in South America.
It is thought Cavani has yet to opt to contest the charge, but Red Devil boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is believed to be keen on keeping the former Ligue 1 ace at Old Trafford next season.
The Uruguayan, whose team plays Wolves on Tuesday, has netted four times in 13 United appearances after joining the club in the summer.
