Man Utd fans purr over Bruno Fernandes as he showcases skill in Lisbon derby with stunning pass

BRUNO FERNANDES was labelled “Kante, De Bruyne and Pogba combined” as fans drooled over a glorious 60-yard pass from the Manchester United target in the Lisbon derby.

The Sporting Lisbon midfielder curved the ball forward for ex-Liverpool winger Rafael Camacho to take in his stride beyond the Benfica defence and thump against the near post.

Old Trafford supporters on social media immediately demanded United complete a deal for the free-scoring Portugal star, whose side lost 2-0 after the game was briefly halted when flares were thrown onto the pitch.

One fan said: “NEED @B_Fernandes8 ASAP!!!!!!!!!” and another added:  “What a pass this is… perfect precision #mufc.”

And the excitement was summed up by this tweet: “Bruno Fernandes is like Kante, De Bruyne and Pogba combined in one player. Anything less than 100 mil is a bargain.”

Just ahead of kick-off, Sky Sports suggested United could, by the weekend, finalise a transfer worth £43million up-front, potentially rising to £60m.

Old Trafford chief Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking to add true class in mid-pitch alongside Paul Pogba, once the French World Cup winner is fully fit again.

And Fernandes showed why, at 25, he is one of Europe’s hottest properties.

His vision, confidence, technique and weight of pass were all exquisite as he lifted the ball from the right of Sporting’s half to meet Camacho’s run into the area.

One fan posted: “Those 5 seconds to hit that pass will never happen in PL! But the pass itself is insane!”

And another suggested Fernnades’ role at United could be even greater than the goal-taking and making he is famed for.

He tweeted: “Bruno Fernandes for captain… Looks like a proper leader that we need.”
