MANCHESTER United are confident they can convince Tahith Chong to stay at the club, despite interest from some of Europe’s top clubs.
Chong’s contract expires in the summer, meaning any club can sign him for a compensation fee but United believe the 20-year-old will sign a new long-term contract at Old Trafford.

Inter Milan have been considering a move for the winger but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to see the youngster extend his stay at the club.
Chong has made 10 appearances for United in all competitions this season and is considering a move away after his agent was spotted with Inter Milan officials in January.
Antonio Conte continues to turn to the Premier League for reinforcements as he looks to scoop a bargain in promising forward Chong.
Since joining United’s academy from Feyenoord in 2016, Chong is a number of players Solskjaer has given a chance to, following the tradition of giving youth players the opportunity to shine.
Brandon Williams and Mason Greenwood have starred this season and both have becoming important parts of United’s upturn in form.
Inter and United have become well connected in the last 12 months, with the Italian side signing Romelu Lukaku, Alexis Sanchez and Ashley Young.
Juventus have also indicated their interested in the Netherlands U21 star ahead of a possible transfer this summer.
If Chong decides to leave this summer, United are considering moves for Jack Grealish and Jadon Sancho to boost their attacking options.
Sanchez is expected to leave permanently after no longer appearing to be in Solskjaer’s plans.
