Leroy Sane ‘wants to quit Man City’ as Barcelona and Real Madrid join Bayern Munich in transfer race

LEROY Sane wants to leave Manchester City as both Real Madrid and Barcelona join the transfer race for the attacking midfielder, according to reports.

Bayern Munich are also after the 24-year-old and now according to Diario Sport who cite a report from German outlet Bild, the two Spanish giants also want to swoop him up.

Sane’s current contract with the Manchester club, who he joined in 2016, ends in 2021.

Pep Guardiola has already had to cope without his star winger this season with the German having been out of action since August through injury.

He suffered damage to his knee ligaments just 10 minutes into the Community Shield win over Liverpool.

Sane has made some progress, recently returning to action for the Under-23s against Arsenal, but is yet to get back to full fitness.

Real boss Zinedine Zidane, along with the club’s president, is said to be keeping close tabs on Sane, who despite being sidelined for some time has still managed to score 39 times in 134 appearances for City since joining from Schalke four years ago.

Guardiola’s City have in recent weeks lost some confidence in trying to sign Germany international Sane up to a new deal since he has rejected proposals, and time is running out.

Who could replace Leroy Sane?

Leon Bailey is one name that has popped up as a possible replacement– if there ever could be.

The 22-year-old Jamaican could be available for around £25million fro Bayer Leverkusen.

Jadon Sancho left City in 2017 in search of gaining first-team experience which he found at Borussia Dortmund.

However, to get the 19-year-old back would cost City a lot more than the £7million they sold him for.
