Lallana says ‘there’s not a chance’ commitment will change at Liverpool despite being set to leave for free this summer

ADAM LALLANA has said there’s “not a chance” his commitment to Liverpool will change despite being set to leave on a free this summer.

The 34-cap England midfielder’s current deal runs out at the end of the season and as of now will be released by the Reds.

But Lallana, 31, says he is loving playing for “the best team in the world” and will carry on as if it’s for the long haul.

Lallana told Off The Ball: It’s easy to keep working. I’m enjoying playing for the best team in the world, it’s as simple as that.

“Whatever my contract situation is, that will be going on in the background.

“There’s not a chance that that will affect my commitment to this club.

“I have given 110 per cent throughout my Liverpool career and will continue to do so, whether that finishes at the end of the season or whether that continues.

“It’s a great squad, a great bunch of lads and I couldn’t be enjoying my football any more.”

Lallana has been at Anfield since 2014, when he signed by Brendan Rodgers from Southampton in a £25million deal.

The versatile midfielder has gone on to play 171 times for Liverpool – scoring 22 times – in what has been an injury-plagued period of his career.

But Jurgen Klopp has shown real faith in Lallana this term, with the ex-Saints man playing ten times in the Premier League and twice in the Champions League.

And the Kop boss is said to be keen to tie him down to a one-year extension in a bid to either keep him at the club or at least prevent him leaving for nothing.

Lallana is now free to negotiate pre-contracts with European clubs ahead of a free move in the summer.
