Jon Moss will face no action after ‘disgraceful’ ref accused of mocking Bournemouth’s relegation struggles

REF Jon Moss will face no action after being accused of mocking Bournemouth’s relegation struggles during Sunday’s clash at Sheffield United.

Cherries midfielder Dan Gosling made the explosive allegations of “disgraceful” Moss in the mixed zone after the game, claiming the official showed “zero respect” to his side and demanded an apology.

On Wednesday, Bournemouth asked the Premier League to investigate the situation but were left disappointed by the authority’s decision not to punish Moss.

The South-Coast club back their player 100 per cent but have reluctantly decided not to pursue the matter any further.

Neither Gosling nor Moss will cop any punishment from the FA.

Bournemouth lost 2-1 at Bramall Lane after strikes from Billy Sharp and John Lundstram overturned Callum Wilson’s opener, leaving the club just two points above the drop zone.

A furious Gosling raged: “The ref didn’t help.

“Giving soft fouls and little comments to two or three of the lads didn’t help as well.

“I thought it was very disrespectful what he was saying.

“It was just the little niggly ones and then the little sarky comments.

“The officials talk about respect at the start of the season and there was zero respect from Jon Moss on Sunday.

“I thought he was a disgrace.

“The comments that he made especially to me and one other player – talking about the relegation zone and ‘you’re still in the relegation zone’, ‘you’re having one’, ‘your team’s having one’ this and that and it was very, very disrespectful.

“I think he should really come out and apologise because I thought he was a disgrace.”
