SunSport can reveal boss Stendel has led the way by refusing any salary – a gesture Budge has now accepted.
The ex-Barnsley boss said said: “I told the owner that I would dispense with my whole salary for a while.
“We earn very good money compared with other employees who would suffer much more if your company suddenly reduce your salary by 50 per cent.
“Me? I have a family too and I’m not a millionaire.
“But I want to be a good example. Hearts are a great club.”

The club’s playing staff have been instructed to keep fit from home with video support from the club’s medical staff.
Stendel’s squad, meanwhile, are currently exploring their options and speaking to the PFA following Wednesday’s bombshell memo from the board.
