MANCHESTER UNITED legend Gary Neville believes Harry Kane has left the door open to leave Tottenham after the striker refused to rule out a move away.
The England captain spoke of his ambitions last week where he revealed that he wouldn’t stay with the North London club for the sake of it.
Gary Neville has claimed that Harry Kane perfectly fits Manchester United’s transfer policy
Kane, 26, said: “It’s one of those things, I couldn’t say yes, I couldn’t say no. I love Spurs, I’ll always love Spurs.
“But it’s one of those things – I’ve always said if I don’t feel we’re progressing as a team or going in the right direction, then I’m not someone to just stay there for the sake of it.
“I’m an ambitious player, I want to improve, I want to get better, I want to become one of the top, top players.
“It all depends on what happens as a team and how we progress as a team. So it’s not a definite I’m going to stay there forever – but it’s not a no either.”
This led the ex-Leyton Orient loanee to be linked with a £200million switch to United, though it is understood the club have no intention of parting ways with the forward.

In a SunSport poll, a staggering 69 per cent of supporters do not believe Kane is worth that extraordinary sum.
But despite the whopping value, Neville believes that Kane perfectly fits United’s transfer policy.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Neville said: “I think it fits Manchester United’s historical transfer, going back to say, Bryan Robson, Roy Keane, trying to sign Alan Shearer, Rio Ferdinand, Wayne Rooney, the best or most famous English or British [or Irish] player in the Premier League.
“It does fit with that with what Manchester United did last summer with Harry Maguire, one of the best players available on the market.

“He’s a clever lad, Harry Kane, he’s not somebody I think would get caught out if he didn’t want to say something, so the little opening of the door that he left in that Instagram piece had something in it.
“I don’t think Harry Kane will have been that impressed with his club a couple of weeks ago with what they did. He’s a good lad, a solid lad, I don’t think he’d have taken that particularly well and he was probably just poking them back.
“In my mind, I think he’ll have been warning them to say just be careful, because I’m watching you and that’s not something we do.”
